Group AArgentina - Venezuela 71-42Argentina bruised Venezuela to remain undefeated in Buenos Aires. The hosts got 18 points from Sofia Acevedo (167-PG-01). Argentina accounted for a 40:19 halftime lead. They went on a 20:11 run in the third term to secure an unassailable lead. Florencia Chagas (174-G-01) had 15 points for the winners. Jairennys Arias (170-G-01) responded with 16 points for Venezuela. Dominican Republic - Canada 48-89 Canada cruised past Dominican Republic for the second straight win in Group A. Brynn Masikewich (186-PF-01) scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the winners. Canada used a 48:19 first half run to clear off for good. Yvonne Ejim (182-PF-02) provided 14 points and 10 boards, while Sarah Te-Biasu (159-PG-01) added 13 points in the victory. Naomy Cueva (176-F-01) responded with 12 points and 8 boards for Dominican Republic. Group BUSA - Mexico 100-37The USA registered the second consecutive victory at the tournament. Samantha Brunelle (187-C-01) posted 18 points and 11 rebounds to pace them past Mexico. The USA sank 33 points in the second frame to ensure a 20-point halftime lead. They held Mexico to just 10 points in the second half and raced to the victory. Paige Bueckers (180-F) accounted for 15 points for the winners. Karina Esquer (170-F-00) responded with 15 points for Mexico. Puerto Rico - Colombia 52-68 Colombia registered the first victory in Group B. They rallied past Puerto Rico for 1-1 record. Daniela Gonzalez (179-C-02) stepped up with 20 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Puerto Rico jumped to an 18:15 lead after ten minutes. But Colombia responded with a 25:9 run in the second term to secure a 40:27 halftime advantage. They followed with a 20:13 rally in the third term to extend the gap to 20 points and never looked back en route to the win. Esperanza Morales (181-C-02) had 11 points for Colombia. Sherly Garcia (170-SF-02) answered with 17 points and 9 boards for Puerto Rico. |
