USA knocked down Argentina for the third win in a row in Group B. JuJu Watkins (183-G-05) notched 17 points, while Margaret Mendelson (196-C-05) added 16 points for the North American side. USA built a 62-17 halftime lead and eased to the victory in the second half. Alma Bourgarel (160-G-06) had 6 points for Argentina.
Chile - Mexico 62-60
Chile held off Mexico to earn the first win in Guanajuato. Chile registered a 36-23 halftime lead. They stretched the lead to 15 points at the final break. Mexico narrowed the deficit in the fourth term but came up short at the end. Vania Vega (SG-05) had 17 points, while Francisca Quinteros (G-05) added 16 points for the winners. Loriette Maciel (179-SG-05) tallied 15 points and 9 rebounds for Mexico.
Brazil - Costa Rica 73-31
Brazil thumped Costa Rico to open win count at the tournament. Costa Rica led by two points after ten minutes. But Brazil went on a 30-5 run in the second frame and coasted to the victory afterwards. Aaliyah Guyton (168-G-06) notched 18 points, while Ana Ferreira (171-SG-05) added 12 points for the winning side. Shaima James (175-C-05) and Maria Montero (180-C-06) had 7 points each for Costa Rica.
Puerto Rico - Canada 50-102
Canada cruised past Puerto Rico for the third straight win in Group A. Canada recorded a 56-25 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Delaney Gibb (181-SG-05) produced 23 points and 11 rebounds for Canada. Camila De Pool (06) responded with 13 points for Puerto Rico.
