USA cruised past Colombia for the second straight win at the tournament. USA posted a 47-25 halftime lead. They held Colombia to just 4 points in the second half and coasted to the win. Darriana Alexander (185-F-2007) recorded 17 points, while Hailee Swain (175-G-2007) added 14 points for USA. Marta Moscarella (180-F-2007) answered with 8 points for Colombia.
Argentina - Brazil 70-59
Argentina beat Brazil to improve at 2-0 record in Group B. They went on a 25-15 run in the second frame to open a 12-point lead. Argentina stretched the margin at 14-point mark heading into the fourth quarter and never looked back en route to the win. Milagros Morell (191-F-2007) finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds for Argentina. Rebeca Soares (187-C-2008) answered with 16 points and 10 rebounds for Brazil.
Canada - Dominican Republic 90-40
Canada outscored Dominican Republic to gain the second consecutive win in Merida. Canada piled up a 53-23 halftime lead. They went on a 23-2 run in the third term to clear off for good. Jahda Denis (168-G-2007) accounted for 15 points, while Cearah Parchment (184-F-2007) added 13 points for Canada. Carmela Nunez (187-SG-2007) netted 9 points for Dominican Republic.
Puerto Rico - Mexico 78-76
Puerto Rico nipped hosting Mexico to earn the first win in Merida. Mexico enjoyed a 43-36 halftime lead. But Puerto Rico used a 19-14 run in the fourth period to snatch a key win at the end. Adriana Robles (171-G-2007) posted 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Jaida Guerra (155-SG-2007) added 20 points for the winners. Giovanna Molinar (181-F-2007) answered with 21 points for Mexico.
