USA, Canada, Colombia and Mexico advance into semifinals in Irapuato

USA - Panama 131-12
USA breezed past Panama to earn the semifinal berth. USA dominated from start to finish. They registered a massive 76-8 halftime advantage and never looked back en route to the win. Ivana Wilson-Manyacka (185-F-2009, college: USA NT U16) finished with 26 points, while Jordyn Haywood (185-F-2010) accounted for 20 points in the victory. Nickielys Alvarez (170-C-2011) replied with 5 points for Panama.

Canada - Puerto Rico 72-47
Canada stormed past Puerto Rico in the quarterfinal clash. Canada posted a 42-13 halftime lead. Puerto Rico narrowed the gap in the third term but Canada limited their opponents to just 12 points in the final quarter to race to the win. Pippa Gibb (170-PG-2010) tossed in 14 points, while Frances Vollet added 12 points for Canada. Valeria Medina (183-G-2009) replied with 21 points for Puerto Rico.

Argentina - Colombia 39-44
Colombia thumped Argentina to book their semifinal place. Argentina accounted for a 14-10 halftime lead. But Colombia stepped on the gas in the second half. They sank 34 points after the big break and snatched a narrow win at the end. Alisson Restrepo (168-SG-2009) produced 10 points for Colombia. Florencia Losada (166-SG-2010) replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds for Argentina.

Mexico - Venezuela 69-44
Mexico outscored Venezuela to secure the semifinal berth. Isamar Rumbo (164-PG-2009) stepped up with 19 points and 13 rebounds for the hosts. Venezuela jumped to a 14-10 lead after ten minutes. But Mexico responded with a 21-8 rally in the second stanza to gain a 31-22 halftime advantage. Mexico dominated in the second half and rallied to the win. Belen Velazquez (169-G-2009) produced 11 points for the home side. Albanys Ramirez (174-G/F-2009) replied with 15 points for Venezuela.
