Barbados' Senior men's basketball team is ready and raring to go.
The recently-selected 12-member squad leaves on Sunday for Tortola, British Virgin Islands, to compete in this year's Caribbean Basketball Championships (CBC), scheduled from June 30 to July 4.
Long-time Cavaliers head coach Adrian Craigwell well takes over the rebuilding programme from last coach Barry Rock , hoping to improve on the side's disappointing sixth-placed showing in Puerto Rico two years ago without the luxury of such 'big' names as two-time CBC Most Valuable Player Andrew Alleyne (203-F/C-68) and one-time captain Pearson Griffith (208-C-81, college: Murray St.).
However, highly touted juniors Andre Holder (206-C) and Kregg Jones will get the opportunity to represent Barbados for the first time at the senior level under new captain Zahir Motara (180-G-81).
