Jamaica looks to recover their elite status in the Caribbean after many years of absence as the CBC Championship starts today in Tortola and will be played until July 4.

The team is coached by Sam Vincent and former NBA player Paul Mokeski (agency: SportsTalent ) is the assistant coach. The team will be led by guard Chaz Carr (183-G-82, agency: Rasmussen Services, college: Boston U.) and center Kimani Ffriend (211-C-77, agency: Court Side, college: Nebraska).

The other players who made the cut were Michael Rogers (198-G-88), Ricky Johns (190-G-85, agency: Tank Sports, college: Utah), Mike Coburn (183-G-88), Andre Smith (188-G-80, college: NC-Asheville), Weyinmi Efejuku (196-G-86), Damion Staple (201-F/C-80, agency: N.E.T., college: Iowa St.), Ricardo Alliman (201-F-87), Adrian Forbes (203-C-88), Samardo Samuels (203-F-89) and Christopher Walker (198-F-81).

Their first game is against Trinidad & Tobago and then they play against Bahamas and Barbados.

Jamaica finished first in the 2006 CBC Championship but finished sixth in the Centrobasket that same year.
