US Virgin Islands are the winners of the Preliminary Group A in Nassau. They closed this phase with 86-61 victory against Jamaica for perfect 3-0 record. US Virgin Islands will meet British Virgin Islands in the Semifinals. Jamaica also reached the next stage, but as No.2 of this pool (2-1 score). They rival in the Semis will be Bahamas. Cuthbert Victor (196-F-83, college: Murray St.) shined for the winners with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Ivan Aska (200-F-90) had 15 points and 5 boards, and Aaron Brown (195-G-92) also helped his team with 15 pts. Guyana - Antigua 51-76
Antigua celebrated their first win in Nassau. It was the last game of the Preliminary Round and Antigua outplayed Guyana 76-51 to avoid the last place in Group A. Antigua (1-2) ended as No.3 in this pool, while Guyana is on the bottom winless. Both teams failed to reach the Semifinals and will continue in Classification Round from 5th to 8th place. Lennox McCoy (188-G-77, agency: Prossin Sports Management, college: Cent.Oklahoma) shined for Antigua with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Wayne Walker (76) had 15 points and 11 boards, while Julius Hodge (201-G-83, college: N.Carolina St.) added 15 pts, 8 boards and 6 assists. In the loosing squad, Kerom McKenzie delivered 21 pts. Bermudas - Cayman Islands 54-48
Bermudas celebrated their second win in Nassau. As expected, Bermudas outplayed Cayman Islands 54-48 for 2-2 record in Group B. However, that was not enough for the second place and Bermudas failed to reach the Semifinals. They will continue in Classification Round from 5th to 8th place. Cayman Islands finished as the last ranked team of CBC Championship winless. Jason Lowe (85) collected 18 points and 7 rebounds for Bermudas. Sullivan Phillips (198-G/F-79, agency: Interperformances, college: Wash.Adventist) had 11 points and 5 rebs, while Jahvon Dean Jones (198-F-83) added 8 pts and 11 rebs. British Virgin Islands - Saint Vincent 71-63
British Virgin Islands managed to beat Saint Vincent 71-63 and to win the second place in Preliminary Group B in Nassau. They made almost perfect 3-1 record and reached Semifinals. There, British Virgin Islands will meet US Virgin Islands. On the other side, Saint Vincent ended as No.4 of this pool with 1-3 score. They will be transferred to Classification Round from 5th to 8th place. Rashid Cann (183-G-86) top-scored for the winners with 21 points. Kennedy Bass (196-F-81, college: Anderson) had 15 points and 7 boards, while Norville Carey added 12 pts. In defeat, Randolph Williams (188-G-76) delivered 23 points.
