Saint Vincent - British Virgin Islands 69-84
British Virgin Islands bruised Saint Vincent on the opening day in Tortola. Halstead Chiverton (193-G-82, college: Clinton CC, NY) scored 18 points to lead the hosts. Biritish Virgin Islands built a 41:32 halftime advantage. Saint Vincent cut the distance to 3 points heading into the fourth frame. But British Virgin Islands went on a 25:13 run in the final period to ice the win. Randy George posted 16 points for the winners. Alexis Foyle (198-F-78, college: BYU-Hawaii) responded with 29 points and 7 rebounds for Saint Vincent. Shawn King (208-C-82, college: ORU) and Sean Baptiste (190-G-88, college: Fair Dickinson) had 11 points each in the loss.

Cayman Islands - U.S. Virgin Islands 65-77
US Virgin Islands got to the winning start of their CBC Championship campaign. They beat Cayman Islands in Group A opener. Khalid Hart (198-SF-95) posted 17 points to lead the winners. Cayman Islands posted a 13:8 lead after the opening quarter. But US Virgin Islands responded with a 25:11 run in the second term to gain the lead. They followed with a 27:13 rally in the third term to clear off for good. Georgio Milligan (187-PG, college: Franklin & Marshall), Angel Rivera and Craig Williams (206-C-89, agency: SDJ Sports, college: TCU) netted 11 points each for US Virgin Islands. Jorge Ebanks (185-SF-86, agency: LA sports) responded with 21 points for Cayman Islands. Samuel O'Garro (195-G-88, college: Eckerd) netted 13 points in the loss.

Group B
Antigua - Guyana 80-60
Antigua held off Guyana to open win count in Group B. Jerome Richardson (194-F/G-83, college: Louisiana Tech) came up with 14 points to lead the winning side. Antigua piled up a 42:25 halftime advantage. They extended the margin in the third term. Antigua rallied to a 65:46 advantage at the final intermission and cruised to the victory at the end. Ernest Scott (201-F-82, college: Valdosta St.) and Lennox McCoy (188-G-77, college: Cent.Oklahoma) finished with 13 points each for Antigua. Gordon James (198-F-79, college: Bridgeport) replied with 19 points and 15 rebounds for Guyana. Travis Burnett (183-G-88) tossed in 13 points in the defeat.

Bahamas - Bermudas 57-38
Bahamas thumped Bermudas in the CBC Championship opener for both sides. Magnum Rolle (211-C-86, college: Louisiana Tech) stepped up with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Bahamas built a 23:21 halftime lead. They held Bermudas to just 17 points in the second half and marched to a comfortable victory at the end. Kentwan Smith (203-F-91) delivered 8 points for Bahamas. Jason Lowe (193-F/G-85) responded with 15 points for Bermudas.
