Anthony Guerra
Point guard Anthony Guerra (178-PG-97) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for GMS, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 22-year old player had a double-double of 31 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Pampichi (#3, 2-1) 73-61. Thanks to this victory GMS moved-up to the 5th position in Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. GMS is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-2 record. In the team's last game Guerra had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at GMS and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Anthony Guerra has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.7ppg. Guerra is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 12.3rpg) and averages impressive 1.3bpg,69.7% FGP and 45.5% from behind 3-point line.
The second best player in last round's games was 31-year old Pablo Cano (178-PG-88) of league's second-best ELOHIM. Cano had a very good evening with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Of course he led ELOHIM to another comfortable win outscoring Villa Nueva (0-3) 112-52. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Cano is one of the most experienced players at ELOHIM and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.8ppg (#3). He also recorded 8.0 assists per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was forward Enrique Samayoa (193-PF-82) of Pampichi (#3). Samayoa scored 14 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Samayoa's great performance Pampichi lost 61-73 to GMS (#5, 1-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Pampichi needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Samayoa has a great season in Guatemala. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.5rpg (6th best) and assists with 5.5apg (5th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
