Guerra's double-double lands him Interperformances Player of the Week award

22-year old point guard Anthony Guerra (178-PG-97) had a very impressive game in the last round for GMS and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Olmeca (#6, 1-3) 66-56. GMS is placed at 3rd position in Guatemalan league. GMS is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Guerra had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at GMS and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Guerra has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.5ppg. Guerra is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 12.0rpg) and averages solid 67.4% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Mynor Aquino (175-G-89) of Coloso. He is a guard in his first season at Coloso. In the last game Aquino recorded impressive double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Coloso cruised to a 69-61 relatively comfortable win over Pampichi (2-2). Coloso's 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 2-2 record is not bad at all. Aquino is a newcomer at Coloso and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Miguel Gonzalez (187-G/F-90) of league's leader ELOHIM. Gonzalez scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of ELOHIM, leading his team to a 82-62 easy win against #2 ranked Club Force in a game of the week. ELOHIM confirms their top position in the standings. Gonzalez has a great season in Guatemala. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.7rpg (4th best) and assists with 4.3apg (6th best).
