David Monterroso
Point guard David Monterroso (180-PG-1979) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Halcones, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 42-year old player had a double-double of 35 points and 16 rebounds, while his team outclassed Forza (#3, 1-1) with 31-point margin 92-61. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Halcones to take over top position in the Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Halcones won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Monterroso had a remarkable 64.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Halcones, through which he has constantly improved. David Monterroso has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 35.0ppg and leads league in rebounds with 16.0rpg. Monterroso is in league's top in and averages impressive 64.0% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was young Walter Ramirez (1997) of Amatitlan. Ramirez had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Amatitlan to another comfortable win outscoring Villa Nueva Jrs (1-1) 71-51. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Ramirez is one of the most experienced players at Amatitlan and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was another Amatitlan's star - Dilan Castillo (2003). Castillo scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was another key player of Amatitlan, helping his team with a 71-51 easy win against Villa Nueva Jrs (1-1). Amatitlan needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victories and 1 lost games. Castillo has a great season in Guatemala. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.0ppg (6th best) and assists with 1.5apg (3rd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
