Halcones - Delfines 91-48 The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Halcones as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Halcones smashed 5th ranked Delfines at home 91-48. Halcones dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Delfines' 30. They outrebounded Delfines 50-25 including a 34-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for point guard David Monterroso (180-1979) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points and 9 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Miguel Gonzalez (187-1990) helped adding 22 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Augusto Paredes responded with 25 points and Andres Belisle scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Halcones (7-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Delfines at the other side dropped to the bottom place with seven games lost. They share the position with Dark Knights. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Jaguares (5-4) 53-49. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Villa Nueva. Jaguares had a 36-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Luke Garrison who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 20 rebounds and 4 blocks. Jasson Sagastume accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Enrique Samayoa (196-1982) came up with 23 points and 8 rebounds and Bryan Mencos (-1999) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Villa Nueva in the defeat. Jaguares maintains third place with 5-4 record having just three point less than leader Halcones. Villa Nueva at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost.
