Rodrigo Oliva claims Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana weekly honour

Talented Rodrigo Oliva (185-SG-2003) put on an amazing game in the last round for Leones and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 20-year old shooting guard had a double-double of 32 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Forza (#5, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 71-69. Leones is placed at 3rd position in Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. Leones is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Oliva had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Leones and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Oliva has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 23.0ppg), rebounds (6th best: 8.0rpg) and averages solid 44.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Sebastian Paniagua of Forza. Paniagua impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds. Forza can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 2 games. The season just started for Rodriguez as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be another team's leader.
