The biggest surprise took place in Guatemala where host Halcones (7-2) edged league's leader PSN (7-2) 63-61 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of PSN. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was point guard David Monterroso (180-1979) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. The former international swingman Miguel Gonzalez (187-1990) chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Cesar Catalan (190-2007) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Halcones keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated PSN.
Fifth-ranked Leones (1-6) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked USAC (5-5) in Guatemala. USAC managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected easier game. It was a good game for guard Mynor Aquino (175-1989) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Victor Sosa contributed with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Mario Martinez replied with 18 points for Leones. USAC maintains fourth position with 5-5 record.
