Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana round 2 best performance: Luke Garrison

Center Luke Garrison (C-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for Leones, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (27 points, nine rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Forza (1-1) 83-69. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Leones is placed at 3rd position in Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. Leones is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. Garrison just recently signed at Leones and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Luke Garrison has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.0ppg. Garrison is in league's top in and averages impressive 63.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Rodrigo Oliva (185-SG-2003) of Forza. Oliva had a very good evening with 36 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Forza lost that game 69-83 to Leones (1-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Oliva is one of the most experienced players at Forza and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.0ppg (#3). He also registered 5.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Forza's star - guard Anthony Guerra (178-PG-1997). Guerra showcased his all-around game by recording 15 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 8 assists in the last round. Despite Guerra's great performance the Forza lost 69-83 to #3 ranked Leones. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Forza needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Guerra has a great season in Guatemala. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.5ppg (9th best), rebounds with 9.0rpg (7th best) and assists with 5.0apg (best passer).
