The most exciting game of round 3 in the Liga Metropolitana took place in Guatemala. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of PSN (0-2) to USAC (3-0) 66-64 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was Ruben Jerez (-1994) who scored 15 points and 4 assists. Forward Victor Sosa (190-1988) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Cesar Catalan (190-2007) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. PSN's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. USAC's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Guatemala Forza.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Guatemala: Leones (#3) and Pat City (#6). Pat City was crushed at home by 18 points 69-87 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a good game for center Luke Garrison (-1997) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Mario Martinez contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international Ronald Campos (-1987) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 20 rebounds for Pat City. Leones' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Guatemala PSN.
An exciting game was played in Guatemala. Forza faced Solola. Host Forza (2-1) defeated guests from Solola (1-2) 86-76. It was a great evening for Herlin Rodriguez who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Marcos Cambino with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forza's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Guatemala to the arena USAC.




Pat City - Leones 69-87

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Guatemala: Leones (#3) and Pat City (#6). Pat City was crushed at home by 18 points 69-87 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a good game for center Luke Garrison (-1997) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Mario Martinez contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Leones players scored in double figures. The former international Ronald Campos (-1987) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 20 rebounds and American guard Jaymeke Smith (187-1995, college: Johnson, FL) added 21 points and 4 assists in the effort for Pat City. An exciting game was played in Guatemala. Forza faced Solola. Host Forza (2-1) defeated guests from Solola (1-2) 86-76. Forza forced 25 Solola turnovers. Strangely Solola outrebounded Forza 43-18 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for point guard Herlin Rodriguez (174-2001) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Anthony Guerra (178-1997) helped adding 18 points and 4 steals. Five Forza players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Marcos Cambino with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and Canadian Marcus Faison (196-1994, college: Salem St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists.
