British Virgin Islands - Guyana 64:61

British Virgin Islands celebrated the first victory at the 2015 CBC Championship. Tamara Phillip (185-G) tallied 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to pace the hosts past Guyana.
British Virgin Islands got to a stunning start. They steered to a 27:12 lead after the opening quarter. Guyana cut the distance in the second frame pulling within 8 points 30:38. Guyana stayed aggressive throughout the third term. They got within 5 points at the final break. Guyana held British Virgin Islands to just 11 points in the fourth stanza but came up short of victory at the end. Chanel Fahie (92) and Tafara Phillip (185-F) posted 9 points apiece in the win. Merisa Lewis responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds for Guyana. Miriam McKenzie (177-G-90, agency: Regeneracom Sports, college: Loyola, MD) netted 16 points and collected 17 rebounds in the defeat.
