Delroy James (ex Meralco Bolts) is a newcomer at Samsung Thunders

Seoul Samsung Thunders (KBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old American (has also Guyanese passport) forward Delroy James (203-100kg-87, college: URI). He joins another USA player Nick Minnerath who is already in the roster.
James played this summer at Meralco Bolts in Filipino PBA league. He managed to play in four leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In four PBA games he recorded very impressive stats: 30.0ppg, 8.3rpg, 7.0apg, 1.5spg and 1.5bpg. The last season James played at AEK Athens (A1) in Greek league where in 27 games he averaged 7.0ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.5apg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. James also played 9 games in Basketball Champions League where he had 5.7ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.8apg, 1.0spg and 1.1bpg. He contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals. The other team James played that season for was Gaziantep (BSL) in Turkish league. In 11 games he got 9.1ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.1apg.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2013. James' team won InterContinental Cup.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Eurobasket.com Greek A1 All-Imports Team in 2018.
James is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Israel (Bnei Hasharon), Italy (Grissin Bon RE, Brindisi and FCM Ferentino), Russia (Enisey), Turkey (Balikesir), NBA G League (OKC Blue), PBL (New Jersey G-F) and The Basketball Tournament (Team Fancy).
James attended Rhode Island University until 2011 and it will be his ninth season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe him following way: A solid PF who can adapt himself to inside game. Has good timing for offensive rebounds, can score even from behing the 3-pts arch.
