Plasencia sign Miriam McKenzie

Extremadura Miralvalle Plasencia (LF Challenge) inked 30-year old Guyanese-American ex-international 177cm guard Miriam McKenzie, college: Loyola, MD for upcoming season. McKenzie is the second import player in the roster as Nigerian Ijeoma Uchendu signed here earlier.
She played most recently at Uniao Sportiva in Portuguese Liga Feminina. In 17 games she recorded very impressive stats: 16.1ppg, 6.3rpg, 2.4apg and 1.8spg in 2019-20 season. She helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also played in the Cup final. Great season indeed as she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Portuguese League Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week.
The previous (18-19) season she played at Boa Viagem (Liga Feminina) where in 14 games she was league's second best scorer with remarkable 22.0ppg and had 10.3rpg (#3 in the league), 3.4apg and 2.3spg (in top 5). A very good season in her career as she was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Portuguese League 1st Team, All-Imports Team and also here League Player of the Week.
She represented Guyana at the FIBA Caribbean Championship three years ago.
McKenzie has played also professionally in Finland (Peli Karhut), Greece (AS Aris Thessalonikis) and Spain (Clarinos).
She played in the final of Finnish League in 2013.
McKenzie attended Loyola College until 2012 and it will be her tenth season in pro basketball.
