TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO WOMEN CRUSH GUYANA 95-39 IN SERIES OPENER....

GEORGETOWN (GB): 
Guyana's  female basketball side was given a rude awakening when they were humbled by their visiting Trinidad and Tobago counteroarts who overwhelmed them 95-39 to begin an  international series betwen the two teams, which is supporting another series involving the Trinidad and Toibaho men, two Guyana  "A" and "B" representative sides and one from the United States known as the Washingtion DC JAMMERS.

The Trinidad women were led to their emphatic with by a 30 point display from captain Pietra Gay who was well supported by Javon Ortega with 20 and Carisia Blugh who contributed 12.

Guyana's brightest sport was from forward Niichola Jacobs with 15 points with another forward Natasha Alder getting 11 and guard Sonia Rodney 11.

Later that evening the Guyana  men's   "A" side basketballers returned to international activity with a sparkling and dramaric win 75-71 win over the visiting Washington DC Jammers. Both  Trinidad abd Tonago and Guyana failed to send teams to this year's Caribbean Basketball Championships which were held in  Jamaica with the hosts capturing both titles.
