TRINIDADA WOMEN BATTER GUYANA AGAIN, 7027....

 

GEORGETOWN (GB): The visiting Trinidad and Tobago women's basketball team  recorded another easy win over their Guyanese counterparts on Wednesdaynight as as in another dominant performance they were led by captain Pietra Gay to show their superiority 70-27.
Gay, as she showed in the first game, not only penetrated the defence of the home team, but was instrumental in the defence for her side. She scored 22 points, while grabbing 11 boards, six steals, four assists and two blocks.
Mahalia Simpson assisted with 15 points, four rebounds and seven steals while Sojourner Sobers chipped in with 10 points, seven boards and four steals.
For the home team, who trailed by 30 points at the half (45-15), Nicola Jacobs scored 10 points, nine boards and two steals, while Kean Andrews assisted with seven points and seven boards.

In the first game the GUYANA ‘B’ team produced a shocking victory over Trinidad and Tobago, Wednesday night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in the International Goodwill basketball series.
