Levski Sofia (NBL) agreed terms with 32-year old American (has also Haitian passport) center John Florveus (211cm-109kg-1990, college: Georgia, agency: BIG) for upcoming 2023-24 season. Florveus is the second import player in the roster as USA Alan Arnett signed here earlier.
It is actually his comeback to Sofia as he has played here before. He played this summer at Sideline Cancer (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S. Florveus managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In three TBT games just recently he had 3.7ppg and 2.3rpg. The last season he played at Levski in Bulgarian NBL where in 31 games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.9ppg, 7.7rpg (#5 in the league) and 1.0apg. He helped them to win the cup. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week (2 times) and named to Eurobasket.com All-Bulgarian League Third Team. Florveus also played 8 games in Balkan League where he averaged 12.9ppg and 6.5rpg.
He is quite experienced player. Florveus has played in twelve different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in France (Lourdes Tarbes), Germany (s Oliver Baskets and Wuerzburg), Greece (Koroivos), Japan (Tokyo Cinq Reves), Kosovo (Bashkimi), Portugal (Ovarense), Romania (BC Timba Timisoara), Slovakia (Spisski Rytieri), Slovenia (Florveuslios Suns), Spain (Prat), Georgia (Cactus) and Bolivia (Amistad and Rubair).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Slovakian League Honorable Mention back in 2019.
He graduated from University of Georgia in 2013 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player.
