La Union lands Wes Alcegaire

La Union Formosa (La Liga) has signed 29-year-old American forward Wes Alcegaire, who also holds a Haitian passport. Standing at 198cm, Alcegaire played college basketball at BGSU. He most recently played for Regatas, where he averaged 5.2ppg, 2.5rpg, and 1.1apg in 10 La Liga games last season in Argentina. Alcegaire has also played for Defensor in the Uruguayan league and ZZ Leiden in the Dutch league. During his time with ZZ Leiden, the team competed in three different competitions, providing Alcegaire with exposure to basketball at various levels. He also had an impressive performance in one game of the FIBA Europe Cup, recording 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.
He has gained extensive experience as a player, having played professionally in six different countries across three continents. He is well-versed in the European, Latin American, and North American leagues. His previous professional stints include Bosnia (Bratunac), Holland, Kosovo (Rahoveci), Slovakia (Inter Bratislava), Sweden (Nassjo), and Uruguay.

He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2017, and this will be his seventh season in professional basketball. He also played for other colleges such as Daytona State College and Liberty University.
