Nicaragua opened the campaign with the win over Honduras, 91-65. Nicaragua dominated the whole game and posted wins in all the quarters.
Jared Ruiz (188-G-1992) led the home side with 21 points in Managua. Josmel Martinez (198-F, college: Broward CC) followed him with 13, whilst Francisco Garth (195-G/F-1999) netted 12. Francisco Forbs and Denneson Lucas (199-F-2000) answered with 13 points each in a loss. Carlos Dionicio ended up with 10 points for Honduras.
