Vanessa Gidden agreed terms with Araski

LFB newcomer ADB Araski Arabako Emakumeen Saskibaloia inked 31-year old Jamaica power forward Vanessa Gidden (192-85, college: Hofstra, agency: Josep and Nicolas). She is not a newcomer in Spanish League as she played most recently at Avenida in the LFB. In 24 games she recorded 11.0ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.1apg last season. Gidden helped them to win the LFB title (twice) and the cup (also twice). A very good season in her career as she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LFB Honorable Mention. Gidden also played 14 games in Euroleague where she averaged 7.9ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.9apg.
The previous (14-15) season Gidden played at Argon Uni Girona. In 25 games she was fifth best scorer with impressive 15.2ppg and had 10.2rpg (#3 in the league). She contributed to her team ending the regular season as at the second position in the league. It was a very successful season in her career as she was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LFB Center of the Year and voted to 1st Team and voted to All-Imports Team.
Gidden represented Jamaica at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Mayaguez (Puerto Rico) six years ago. Her stats at that event were 5 games: 15.4ppg, Reb-2 (11.0rpg), FGP: 43.3%, 3PT: 44.4%, FT: 77.8%.
Gidden is a very experienced player. She has played also professionally in Finland (HoNsU), Israel (Elitzur Ramla and Hap.Petah Tikva), Italy (Napoli BK Women and Alcamo), Romania (Sf.Gheorghe), Turkey (Adana ASKI Mersin) and WNBA (Connecticut Sun and Minnesota Lynx).
Gidden attended Hofstra University until 2007 and it will be her tenth season in pro basketball.
