Jamaica's women's basketball team looks set to be hampered by rule changes as they prepare to make their debut at the 21st Commonwealth Games next month in Australia. The national women's basketball team which includes a number of overseas-based players will be heading "down under" with the hopes of medalling but that ambition will be carried with knowledge that the use of overseas based players will be limited based on new rules at the Games. Treasurer of JABA Kevin Alexander, who will accompany the team, explains. 'The initial communication said we could play any number of naturalized Jamaican players. On Sunday we got correspondence from the Commonwealth Games Federation that we can only play one so means we will have to readjust the team to compete,' said Alexander. Meanwhile, new Jamaica Basketball Association (JABA) president Paulton Gordon says he will be reaching out to members of the Clifton Lumsden slate to be a part of his administration.
