Dylan Ennis selected the top Jamaican playing abroad in last week's games

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Jamaicans who are currently playing abroad.

Dylan Ennis

   #1. This week's number one is former international point guard Dylan Ennis (187-91, agency: BeoBasket, college: Oregon, currently plays in Spain). Ennis was the major contributor in Andorra's victory against the closely-ranked La ICL Manresa (16-16) 77-64 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Friday night. He recorded 14 points in 24 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Ennis' second season in pro basketball. MoraBanc Andorra (16-17) is placed tenth in the Liga Endesa. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Ennis has relatively good stats this year: 13.7ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.6apg, 2FGP: 48.1%, 3FGP: 37.2% and FT: 74.6% in 31 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Jamaican. Ennis played for the Jamaican senior national team five years ago.

Akeem Scott

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced former international shooting guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point, currently plays in Mexico). Scott could not help Venados (11-10) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Venados lost 74-82 on the road to the lower-ranked (#6) Tijuana Zonkeys. Scott was the top scorer with 25 points. He also added 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 31 minutes. Scott has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 22.5ppg, 6.2rpg, 6.2apg, 3.3spg, 2FGP: 62.3%(86-138), 3FGP: 36.1% and FT: 81.7% in 15 games. Scott is a naturalized American. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. He played for the Jamaican national team in 2014.

Samardo Samuels

   #3. The Jamaican player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward Samardo Samuels (206-89, college: Louisville, currently plays in France). Samuels was not able to help Limoges CSP Elite in their game against Pau-Lacq-Orthez (16-16) in the French Jeep ELITE ProA. He scored 9 points. But Limoges CSP Elite was defeated 84-69 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#7). Samuels' team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Samuels' overall stats this season are: 9.4ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.1apg, 2FGP: 52.5%, 3FGP: 31.6% and FT: 69.3%. He played for the Jamaican national team five years ago.

Jerome Jordan

   #4. Center Jerome Jordan (215-86, college: Tulsa, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Dylan Ennis. But that was another game of his team in Spanish Liga Endesa which we would like to mention. Jordan was not able to secure a victory for Andorra (16-17) in their game against FC Barcelona (24-7). He scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 12 minutes. Andorra was edged 82-79 at home by the much higher-ranked (#3) FC Barcelona. It's Jordan's first season with the team. This year Jordan's overall stats are: 6.5ppg and 2.7rpg in 17 games. He used to play for the Jamaican national team back in 2014.

Ricardo Alliman

   #5. Former international small forward Ricardo Alliman (201-87, college: Cedarville, currently plays in France) couldn't help Orchesien BC (7-11) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance the ninth-placed Orchesien BC (7-11) was defeated 90-83 in La Charite by the lower-ranked La Charite (#10) in the Places 1-10 group. Alliman was the top scorer with 20 points. He also added 6 rebounds. Alliman's team will play only one more game in the Second Stage. This season Alliman has relatively solid stats: 14.2ppg, 6.8rpg and 1.2apg. Alliman attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. He used to play for the Jamaican national team five years ago.

Weyinmi Rose

   #6. Swingman Weyinmi Rose (196-86, college: Providence, currently plays in Puerto Rico) couldn't help Leones (13-12) in their last game on Friday. Despite Rose's good performance Leones was badly defeated 96-80 in San German by the one of league's weakest teams Atleticos (#8). He scored 10 points and added 3 assists. Rose's total stats this season are: 3.9ppg, 1.6rpg and 2.0apg. He is a former international player as he played for the Jamaican senior team five years ago.

Vashil Fernandez

   #7. Former international center Vashil Fernandez (208-92, college: Valpo, currently plays in Spain) led Marin to a victory against the leader HLA Alicante (28-6) 91-86 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) last Saturday. Fernandez recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and made 4 blocks. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group West. Marin PeixeGalego (19-15) is placed third. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Fernandez's total stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 6.6rpg and 2.3bpg. He is a naturalized American. Fernandez used to play for the Jamaican national team five years ago.

   #1. Experienced Dane Johnson (208-C-86, college: Hofstra, currently plays in Mexico) could not help Caballeros de Culiacan (12-7) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Caballeros de Culiacan was badly defeated 100-84 on the road by the lower-ranked (#4) Halcones de Ciudad Obregon. Johnson had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 14 rebounds in 40 minutes. Johnson has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.5ppg, 11.5rpg and 2.4apg in 20 games he played so far. Johnson is a naturalized American.

   #2. Sek Henry (193-G-87, college: Nebraska, currently plays in Turkey) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Pinar Karsiyaka (15-3) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance Pinar Karsiyaka was crushed 96-66 at home by the leading Anadolu Efes. Henry was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added made 3 passes and 3 steals. The Regular Season already ended. Henry has relatively good stats this season: 13.8ppg, 2.8rpg and 4.4apg. He is a naturalized American.

   #3. Shevon Thompson (213-C-93, college: GMU, currently plays in Belgium) was the major contributor in Oostende's victory against the league outsider Liege Basket (7-26) 93-80 in the Belgian Euromillions League in Sunday night's game. He recorded 13 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. Filou Oostende (27-7) is placed second in the Euromillions League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Thompson has relatively solid stats: 14.3ppg and 6.7rpg.

   #4. Brynton Lemar (193-G-95, college: UC Davis, currently plays in Hungary) led Sopron KC to a victory over the fifth-ranked ZTE KK (14-20) 89-80 in the Hungarian A Division on Wednesday night. Lemar was MVP of the game. He recorded 22 points, 6 assists and 4 steals; not bad, considering it's only Lemar's second season in pro basketball. Sopron KC (17-17) is placed second in Places 6-10 group. His team will play only one more game in the Second Stage. And now that game is very crucial. It's Lemar's first year with the team. This season Lemar has very high stats. He averages: 18.9ppg, 3.4rpg, 3.4apg and 1.2spg. Lemar is a naturalized American.

   #5. Sherman Gay (201-F/C-82, college: Loyola Mary, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a Crailsheim Merlins' surprising victory against the second-ranked EWE Baskets (28-6) 99-87 in the German BBL in Sunday night's game. He recorded 13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and made 2 blocks in 23 minutes. HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim (9-25) is placed 16th in the BBL. The Regular Season already ended. This year Gay's overall stats are: 8.3ppg and 2.9rpg in 29 games. He is a naturalized American.

   #6. Kyle Hunt (208-F/C-89, college: USAO, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Universidad Catolica de Murcia CB to win against the fifth-ranked Unicaja Malaga 78-76 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Saturday night's game. Hunt scored only 4 points. His total stats this season are: 4.8ppg and 4.4rpg. Hunt is a naturalized American.

   #7. Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson (178-PG-91, college: Calgary, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for Aix-Maurienne (9-23) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Aix-Maurienne lost 84-93 in Evreux to the higher-ranked (#13) ALM Evreux. Ogungbemi-Jackson was the top scorer with 19 points. He also added 8 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 29 minutes. This year Ogungbemi-Jackson has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 3.3rpg and 3.5apg in 32 games. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Jamaican. Despite Ogungbemi-Jackson's Jamaican passport, he previously played for the Canadian university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Jamaican team.

   #8. Jahmal Jones (183-PG-91, college: Ryerson, currently plays in Slovakia) couldn't help Prievidza (19-13) in their last game. Despite Jones' good performance Prievidza lost 77-83 on their home court in Prievidza to the leading Inter Bratislava. He scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 30 minutes. Jones has reliable stats this year: 12.3ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.8apg and 1.5spg in 43 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Canadian and Jamaican.

   #9. Duane Morgan (198-PF-93, college: Adelphi, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Plasencia (15-19) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Morgan's very good performance Plasencia (#8) was defeated 66-58 on their home court in Plasencia by the lower-ranked L'Hospitalet (#9) in the West group. He was the top scorer with 23 points. Morgan also added 7 rebounds. Morgan has reliable stats this season: 13.6ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.4apg and 1.6spg. He is a naturalized American.

   #10. Javon Masters (183-G-94, agency: Blacktop Management, college: UNB, currently plays in Spain) helped Ourense win their game against the closely-ranked Oviedo CB 80-76 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Thursday night. Masters recorded 13 points in 26 minutes. This year Masters' total stats are: 6.3ppg and 1.7rpg in 35 games. He has both Canadian and Jamaican nationalities.
