Cricket Club Knights hope to extend their winning start in the Western Basketball Association Men's Invitational League when they face Granville Jaguars in the second game of a double-header at the Montego Bay Cricket Club on Sunday, set to start at 6:30 pm. Knights outscored Sav-Elite Titans 84-47 on Saturday after winning their opening game a week earlier and faces a Granville team that lost their opening game last weekend. In the first game on Sunday, Knibb Thunder will play Catherine Hall All-stars, starting at 4:30 pm, while there will also be two games on Saturday. Sav-Elite Titans faces Muschett Falcons in the first game set to start at 4:30 pm followed by Boys Club Warriors and Falmouth Saints. On Saturday, Andre Hill scored a game-high 26 points to lead Cricket Club Knights to a 37-point win over Sav-Elite Titans, outscoring them by 34 points in the second half. Knights led 16-5 after the first quarter and were up by just three points 25-22 at half-time before they won the third quarter 29-5 to open up a 27-point lead 54-27. Lemar Mitchell also scored 20 points for Cricket Club, Jhaun Bryan scored 10 points and had eight rebounds while Alwyn Newsom had 12 rebounds. Rushane Drummond had a double-double 13 points and 15 rebounds to lead Sav-Elite while Alex Forbes scored 11 points and had six rebounds. Catherine Hall All-Stars came from behind in the fourth quarter to beat Granville by two points 68-66 thanks to 21 points and nine rebounds from Odane Whittaker and 15 points from Mikhail Smith. Granville Jaguars led 44-41 after three quarters but despite a combined 47 points from Hubert Rodney who scored 24 points and Dave Black 23 points, they were overtaken. |
