Trotamundos de Carabobo (SPB) agreed terms with experienced 35-year old Jamaican ex-international power forward Samardo Samuels (206cm-122kg-1989, college: Louisville). Samuels moved there from Mayrouba in Lebanese Division 2. In 9 games he had 14.6ppg, 7.4rpg and 1.7apg last season. The last season he played at Bashkimi in Kosovan Superliga where in 15 games he recorded 12.2ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.7apg and 1.0bpg. A very impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Kosovo League Honorable Mention. He also played 4 games in Balkan League where he averaged remarkable 16.5ppg, 8.3rpg and 1.5apg.
Samuels has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2013. He was a member of Jamaican Senior National Team between 2009 and 2014.
Samuels is quite experienced player. Samuels' career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in twelve different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America. Samuels has played previously professionally in China (Jiangsu Dragons), France (Limoges CSP Elite and Chorale de Roanne), Greece (Panionios), Israel (Maccabi Hod Hasharon and Hapoel Haifa), Italy, Mexico (Libertadores), Serbia (Partizan), Spain (FC Barcelona and Real Betis), NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers), Holland (ZZ Leiden), South Korea (Sakers) and NBA G League (College Park SkyHawks, Stockton Kings and Cleveland Charge). His team won Italian Serie A Regular Season in 2014 and 2015.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Italian Serie A Center of the Year back in 2015.
He graduated from University of Louisville in 2010 and it is his 14th (!!!) season as a professional player.
