Quimper lands Willesley Butler

Willesley Butler

Quimper UJAP (NM1) signed 28-year-old American (who also holds a Jamaican passport) 203cm forward Willesley Butler (college: UAB) for the upcoming season. Butler, who was the top rebounder at Toulouse Basket Club, averaged 14.5ppg, 8.0rpg, and 1.8apg in 36 NM1 games in France last season. He had a successful year and was named League Player of the Week twice. Prior to joining Quimper UJAP, Butler played for Umea BSKT (Basketligan) in the Swedish league for three seasons (2021-24).
He has played professionally in Spain (Huesca) and Sweden before.
Butler's team reached the Basketligan Semifinals in 2023. He was chosen for Eurobasket.com All-Swedish Basketligan Honorable Mention in 2022.
He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2020, and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball. Butler played also for Pensacola State College for 2 years.
