Toulouse welcomes back Butler

Toulouse Basket Club (NM1) has signed 29-year-old American forward Willesley Butler for the upcoming season. Butler, who also holds a Jamaican passport, stands at 203cm and previously played for the team. He is no stranger to the French League, having most recently played for Quimper UJAP in the ProB, where he averaged 8.8ppg, 5.2rpg, and 2.4apg in 25 games last season. Returning to Toulouse, Butler is expected to have a better fit in NM1 and receive more playing time. He was recognized as the League Player of the Week for his outstanding performance. In the 2024-25 season, Butler played for Toulouse Basket Club.
He has played professionally in Spain (Huesca) and Sweden (Umea).
Butler's team reached the Swedish Basketligan Semifinals in 2023, among many awards. He was chosen for the Eurobasket.com All-Swedish Basketligan Honorable Mention in 2022.
He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2020 and this will be his seventh season in pro basketball. Butler also played for Pensacola State College for 2 years.
