Metros STGO - Malvin 68-88
Malvin toppled Metros STGO to secure the second position in Group A. The Uruguayan team therefore advanced into the Second Stage of Liga Americas action. Samuel Hoskin (206-F/C-79, college: De Paul, agency: Higher Vision Sports) stepped up with 21 points and 7 rebounds to pace the winners. Malvin gained a comfortable 50:39 halftime lead. They followed with a strong 27:10 run in the third term to clear off for good. Nicolas Mazzarino (184-PG-75, agency: Players Group) finished with 20 points for the winners. Adris De Leon (180-PG-84, college: E.Washington) answered with 16 points for Metros. Kelvin Pena (193-G-80, college: Southeastern CC) had 15 points in the loss.

Los Leones - Mogi 83-100
Mogi das Cruzes earned the third straight victory in the Liga Americas Group A. They beat Los Leones to finish the preliminary round undefeated. Shamell Stallworth (195-SG-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) provided 21 points to pace the winners. Mogi das Cruzes eked out a 46:45 halftime lead. The Brazilian team erupted for 31 points in the third term to boost the lead. They maintained teh advantage throughout the final period and raced to the win. Larry Taylor (185-PG-80, college: Missouri Western) finished with 19 points for the winners. Jamal Johnson (201-F-81, college: Clayton St.) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds for Los Leones.

FINAL San Lorenzo - Mogi 79-71 San Lorenzo celebrated Liga Americas title. They beat Mogi das Cruzes in the championship game. It looked good early as Mogi took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then San Lorenzo had a 20-13 second period charge getting the lead and Mogi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-79. San Lorenzo and Mogi das Cruzes will clash for Liga Americas title in Buenos Aires tonight. They claimed victories in the respective semifinals on Saturday. San Lorenzo cruised past Estudiantes Concordia 101:78. Gabriel Deck (199-F-95) stepped up with 30 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort. San Lorenzo built a 42:34 halftime lead.
