Santa Tecla dropped San Pedro Tigersharks to stay perfect in San Salvador. Lisvan Valdez (200-F-88) netted 23 points to lead the charge. Santa Tecla piled up a 54:32 halftime lead. The Salvadoran team unleashed 51 points in the second half and cruised to the victory. Rene Aguilar (170-G-87) had 16 points and 15 rebounds in the win. George Williams (198-G-90, college: Wayland Baptist) responded with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for San Pedro.
Correcaminos - Halcones 87-60
Correcaminos cruised to the second consecutive victory in San Salvador. They rallied past Halcones to stay undefeated. Six players scored in double digits for Correcaminos. Isaac St.Rose (190-G/F-83, college: John Brown) and Ernesto Oglivie (203-F-89) delivered 15 points each for the winners. Correcaminos established a 41:28 halftime lead. They sank 46 points in the second half to march to the win. Antonio Bumpus (190-G-89, college: Cumberlands) tallied 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Jared Ruiz (188-G-92) responded with 34 points and 15 rebounds for Halcones.
Costa Caribe - Banco Atlantida 76-65
Costa Caribe outgunned Banco Atlantida to gain the second straight win at the tournament. Noel Makence scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the winners. Costa Caribe recorded a 39:30 halftime lead. Banco Atlantida used a strong 23:9 run in the third term to spur ahead. But Costa Caribe responded with a 28:12 rally in the fourth period to ice the win. Pieter Prinsloo (208-F-92, college: Marist) had 13 points and 13 rebounds in the victory. Quincy Scates (197-F-89, college: Tenn Wesleyan) responded with 23 points for Banco Atlantida.
