Santa Tecla registered the third straight victory in San Salvador. They beat Halcones to stay perfect. Lisvan Valdez (200-F-88) delivered 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the win. Halcones grabbed a 43:41 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 9-point mark heading into the fourth quarter. But Santa Tecla responded with a 29:16 run in the final period to snatch a tough win. Oreste Torres (204-C/F-87) posted 15 points, while James Valladares (205-F/C-89, college: New Hampshire) added 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Jared Ruiz (188-G-92) responded with 29 points and 9 rebounds for Halcones.
Costa Caribe - Correcaminos 76-111
Correcaminos outgunned Costa Caribe to remain perfect in San Salvador. Eight players scored in double digits for the Panamanian powerhouse. Isaac St.Rose (190-G/F-83, college: John Brown) came up with 16 points to lead the winners. Correcaminos established a massive 69:38 halftime lead. They dropped 42 points in the second half and cruised to the victory. Ernesto Oglivie (203-F-89) and Anibal Salazar (178-PG-88) notched 13 points each for the winners. Troy Watson (197-F/C-82) responded with 14 points for Costa Caribe.
San Pedro T. - Banco Atlantida 74-67
San Pedro Tigersharks claimed the first victory at the tournament. They rallied past Banco Atlantida for 1-2 record. George Williams (198-G-90, college: Wayland Baptist) stepped up with 25 points to pace the Tigersharks. San Pedro grabbed a 32:28 halftime advantage. They extended the margin at 7-point mark at the final intermission. San Pedro maintained the lead throughout the fourth quarter and rallied to the victory. Darius Harris (203-PF-92, college: SE Oklahoma) netted 21 points and 12 rebounds in the win. Quincy Scates (197-F-89, college: Tenn Wesleyan) responded with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for Banco Atlantida.
