Pastoras de Lara loses to Leonas; Audaz edge Carl A-Z

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Liga Sudamericana. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Venezuelan Pastoras de Lara in Medellin on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by Colombian Leonas 93-65. The game without a history. Leonas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Jenifer Munoz (170-91) who scored 21 points and 6 assists. Colombian guard Maria Palacio (172-85) chipped in 15 points. Yosimar Corrales (184-90) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leonas is looking forward to face Audaz in Machala in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pastoras de Lara will play at home against Carl A-Z and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Shacobia Barbee contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Audaz's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Katrina Pardee (175, college: WVU) replied with 26 points for Carl A-Z. Audaz will play against Leonas in Medellin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Carl A-Z will play on the road against Pastoras de Lara in Barquisimeto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Ecuadorian Audaz faced Bolivian Carl A-Z. Audaz defeated guests from Oruro 67-62. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-9. But Carl A-Z won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Jacinta Monroe (196-88, college: FSU, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Shacobia Barbee (179-94, college: Georgia) contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Audaz's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Katrina Pardee (175, college: WVU) replied with 26 points and forward Lydia Baxter (183, college: SHSU) added 5 points and 16 rebounds in the effort for Carl A-Z. Audaz will play against Leonas in Medellin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Carl A-Z will play on the road against Pastoras de Lara in Barquisimeto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
