Group CLeonas - Berazategui 57-733rd placed Colombian host Leonas (0-2) lost to leader Argentinian Berazategui (2-0) 73-57. The game without a history. Berazategui led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 36 of its points in the paint compared to Leonas' 12. They outrebounded Leonas 48-26 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Sofia Wolf (166-0) stepped up and scored 16 points for the winners and Candela Gentinetta (181-1) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Argentinian forward Paula Reggiardo (183-84) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Brazilian power forward Julia Torres (190-93, college: MWSU) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Argentinian champion maintains first place with 2-0 record, which they share with Quimsa. Defending Colombian champion Leonas still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Victoria. Berazategui is looking forward to face league's second-placed Quimsa in Santiado del Estero in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leonas will play at home against Victoria and hope to get finally their first victory. Victoria was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 26-7 third quarter run of Quimsa. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Victoria to just 7 points in third and fourth quarters. Victoria was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Celia Fiorotto (186-92) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Luciana Delabarba (167-97) accounted for 15 points. Five Quimsa players scored in double figures. Belarusian forward Tatyana Troina (188-81, college: S.Carolina) came up with 7 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Doris Lasso (164-93) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Victoria in the defeat. Victoria's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Quimsa keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Berazategui. Victoria at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Leonas. Quimsa will play against league's leader Berazategui in Buenos Aires in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Victoria will play on the road against Leonas in Medellin and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
