Carl A-Z - Felix Perez 50-62 The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Bolivian Carl A-Z (2-1) in Oruro on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Paraguayan Felix Perez (3-0) 62-50. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Carl A-Z. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Felix Perez dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Carl A-Z's 14. They outrebounded Carl A-Z 41-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Spanish forward Gala Mestres (185-1994, college: Mount Royal) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Trinity Baptiste (183-1998, college: Arizona) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Felix Perez's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Alexus Johnson (188-1994, college: Texas Southern) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Romina Rodriguez (167-1992) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Carl A-Z. Felix Perez have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending Paraguayan champion keeps a position of league leader which they share with defeated Carl A-Z. Defending Bolivian champion Carl A-Z still keeps top place with one game lost. They share the position with Rocamora and D.Sporting. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Quimsa left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with Aguada and Sportiva Ita. It was Malvin's third loss in a row. They still close the standings with three games lost.
