Bucaros outrebounded UDJ 52-38 including a 43-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Kai James (196-1995, college: FSU) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Montenegrin-American swingman Eshaya Murphy (181-1985, college: USC) chipped in 21 points during the contest. Four Bucaros players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Viviana Zurita (-1996) with 12 points and 6 rebounds and guard Doris Lasso (164-1993) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bucaros have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 3-0 record, which they share with Quimsa. Defending Ecuadorian champion UDJ still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Univ. San Simon. Indeportes outrebounded Dep.Berazategui 46-32 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Jenifer Munoz (170-1991) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and guard Carolina Lopez (188-1998) supported her with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Even 16 points and 9 rebounds by center Mayra Leiva (185-1996) did not help to save the game for Dep.Berazategui. Maria Jourdheuil (180-1994) added 13 points and 8 rebounds.
