Best players of Liga SudAmericana round 1 (by Hoops Agents)

Argentinian Maria Jourdheuil (180-PF-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 29-year old power forward had a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, while her team beat CDSC (#4, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 71-62. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Felix Perez to jump to the first place in the Liga SudAmericana. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Felix Perez won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Jourdheuil had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Felix Perez and it was her first game, where she immediately became new team's leader. Jourdheuil has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 14.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.0rpg) and averages solid 6.0spg and 57.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young guard Fernanda Ovalle (178-G-2003) of CDSC Universidad De Chile. Ovalle impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as CDSC lost that game 62-71 to Felix Perez (1-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Ovalle is one of the most experienced players at CDSC and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.0ppg (#2). She also registered 10.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Erika De Souza (197-C-1982) of second-ranked SESI Araraquara Basquete. De Souza scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of SESI, leading her team to a 83-52 easy win against #3 ranked Ambato Soldiers in a game of the week. SESI has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. De Souza also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for De Souza as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.
