Mazatlan claimed CIBACOPA title. They rallied past Hermosillo for the fourth straight victory in the championship series. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 53-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Lobos UAD Mazatlan looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Canadian forward Marvell Waithe (205-87, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory with 31 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Jeff Ledbetter (190-88, college: Idaho) contributed with 24 points, 6 assists and 7 steals for the winners. American swingman Michael Craig (196-91, college: S.Mississippi) replied with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals and his fellow American import forward Alfonzo McKinnie (203, college: Green Bay) added 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Rayos de Hermosillo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. South overcame North in All Star Game 126-107. They dominated the first period and grabbed a 33-22 lead at the end of it. North meanwhile replied with a 33-27 rally in the second period and reduced to 5 points at the half-time. In the second half South managed to go on a bigger lead and sealed the victory. Jordan Williams (198-G, college: N.Texas) stepped up with 36 points to pace all the winners. Michael Craig (196-G/F-91, college: S.Mississippi), Steve Monreal (180-PG-86, college: CS Monterey) and Dwayne Mitchell (196-G/F-82, college: La-Lafayette) replied with 18 points each in a loss.
