CIMEBA 2005 Cancelled - Jul 22,
2005 The 2005 season for the Circuito Mexicano de Baloncesto (CIMEBA) has been oficially cancelled. Mexico's oldest basketball professional league has been under severe economic and organizational problems in the past couple of seasons. A lot has to do with the creation of the LNBP in 2000, as it has taken over as Mexico's premier baskeball league and players prefer to play at the LNBP (LIGA NACIONAL DE BALONCESTO PROFESIONAL). This also solidifies CIBACOPA (Cicuito de Basquetbol de la Costa del Pacifico) as Mexico's second best league. CIBACOPA was created in 2001, and it is played in the states of Sonora and Sinaloa. CIBACOPA will soon announce its plans for the 2006 season, which may include expansion to new cities and/or states. |
