Zonkeys de Tijuana repeat as CIBACOPA champions - Jul 24, 2015

Nogales - Tijuana 56-80

Tijuana thrashed Nogales in the decisive seventh game of the championship series to conquer CIBACOPA title. The game without a history. Tijuana Zonkeys led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for American guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) helped adding 24 points and 5 rebounds. Lathan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jumaine Jones (202-79, college: Georgia) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import Kenny Jones (198-84, college: Kentucky St., agency: DTMones) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
