Zelionis is back at El Calor

El Calor de Cancun (LNBP) agreed terms with experienced 37-year old Lithuanian ex-international power forward Edgaras Zelionis (207cm-97kg-1989). It is actually his comeback to Cancun as he has played here before. He has played for the last two seasons at Kaohsiung Aquas in Taiwanese TPBL. In 9 games he had very impressive stats: 19.8ppg, 9.4rpg and 2.3apg last season.
He was also a member of the Lithuanian international program for some years. Zelionis played for Lithuanian Senior National Team back in 2018 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2009.
He is quite experienced player. Zelionis has played in ten different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa). He has played previously in France (Le Portel), Kazakhstan (Barsy Atyrau), Latvia (Ventspils and Liepaja), Lithuania (Neptunas, Prienu, Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys and Juventus), Saudi Arabia (Al Wehda), Turkey (Afyon), Ukraine (Khimik and Adzhalyk), Venezuela (Marinos) and Egypt (Al Ittihad Alexandria).
Among many awards he played in the final of Taiwanese League in 2025. Zelionis was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Taiwanese League Honorable Mention in 2025.
He is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at El Calor.
