LNBP is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 12 rounds left. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most important game in the last round took place in Puebla between second ranked Dorados (7-3) and seventh ranked Lobos (5-5) on Sunday night. Dorados were crushed by Lobos on the road 77-104. Lobos made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American guard Elias King (203-2000, college: MTSU) who led his team to a victory with 37 points (!!!) (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) contributed with 19 points and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners. International J.J. Avila (203-1991, college: Colorado St.) replied with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for Dorados. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Lobos maintains seventh position with 5-5 record. Dorados at the other side keep the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Fuerza Regia and Mineros. Lobos are looking forward to face Diablos (#10) in the next round. Dorados will play against Abejas (#9) and are hoping to win this game.
LNBP top team - Soles (8-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Santos (4-5) in San Luis Potosi 105-74. The best for the losing side was American Jared Wilson-Frame (196-1996, college: Pittsburgh) with 18 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Soles have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-2 record. Santos lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with five games lost. Soles will play against Mineros (#3) in Zacatecas in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fuerza Regia's coach Jose Neto used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 30 points and 11 assists by Franger Pirela did not help to save the game for Freseros. Fuerza Regia have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Dorados and Mineros. Freseros lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with Gambusinos. Fuerza Regia will meet at home Gambusinos (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
