At the losing side Argentinian-American Erik Thomas (195-1995, college: New Orleans) responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Correcaminos maintains fourteenth position with 2-9 record. Soles at the other side still keep top place with three games lost. Correcaminos are looking forward to face higher ranked Panteras (#3) in Aguascalientes in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Soles will play at home against El Calor and are hoping to win this game.
Very significant was Fuerza Regia's (#6) just 1-point road victory against 5th ranked Lobos 91-90. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Lobos. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The winners were led by American guard Avry Holmes (185-1994, college: Clemson) who scored that evening 14 points and 7 assists and Josue Andriassi supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Fuerza Regia's coach Jose Neto allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Fuerza Regia (9-5) moved-up to second place, which they share with Panteras and Dorados. Newly promoted Lobos dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Mineros. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mineros moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Lobos. Loser Panteras keep the second position with five games lost. They share it with Fuerza Regia and Dorados. Mineros will meet league's second-placed Dorados in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Panteras will play against Correcaminos and hope to secure a win.
There were no shocking results in the other games in round 16: Astros won against El Calor on the opponent's court 88-79. Gambusinos managed to outperform Freseros in a home game 87-84. Diablos managed to beat Abejas on the road 75-73. Santos were defeated by Dorados on its own court 94-102.
