Fountain number one in Mexican LNBP for round 20

American Forward Derek Fountain (208-F-2002, agency: LHZ Sport Agency) had a very impressive game in the last round for Freseros Irapuato, receiving a Hoops Agents LNBP Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, eight rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Lobos (#6, 10-8) 90-86. Freseras is placed at 8th position in Mexican LNBP. Freseros is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-10 record. In the team's last game Fountain had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Freseras' top player in his first season with the team. Former Louisiana State University star has very solid stats this year. Fountain is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 7.1rpg) and averages impressive 62.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Donoven Carlisle (203-F-1998) of Correcaminos UAT Victoria. Carlisle had a very good evening with 20 points and 7 rebounds. It was enough for Correcaminos to edge the higher-ranked Dorados (#5, 11-7) 85-83. Despite this victory they still are dead at the bottom. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Correcaminos managed to get this year. Carlisle is a newcomer at Correcaminos, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Freseros' star - American swingman Zach Brown (198-G/F-1995, agency: LHZ Sport Agency). Brown scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He was another key player of Freseros Irapuato, helping his team with a 90-86 win against slightly higher-ranked Lobos (#6, 10-8). The chances of Freseras ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Brown could help Freseros to bring them higher in the standings. Brown has a great season in Mexico. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.8ppg (7th best).
