The most exciting game of round 22 in the LNBP took place in Monterrey. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Mineros (11-9) to fourth ranked Fuerza Regia (13-7) 87-84 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mineros. Fuerza Regia made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Joshua Ibarra (211-1995, college: HCU) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. American-Kosovan Scott Bamforth (188-1989, college: Weber St.) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American-Argentinian guard Romeao Ferguson (196-1997, college: Lipscomb) replied with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for Mineros. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fuerza Regia moved-up to second place, which they share with Panteras and Dorados. Mineros at the other side keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Fuerza Regia is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Correcaminos (#14) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Mineros will play against Gambusinos (#10) and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Panteras (13-7) against sixth ranked Astros (12-6) on Thursday night. Host Panteras were defeated by Astros in Aguascalientes 98-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Panteras. Dominican Rigoberto Mendoza (191-1992) scored 31 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Jose Ascanio chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Kittitian-American swingman Shaun Willett (193-1996, college: Queens, NC) responded with 14 points. Panteras' coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Astros moved-up to fifth place. Panteras at the other side keep the second position with seven games lost. They share it with Fuerza Regia and Dorados. Astros will play against league's second-placed Dorados in Chihuahua in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Panteras will play on the road against the league's leader Soles in Mexicali and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Even 14 points and 5 rebounds by Jose Zesati did not help to save the game for Gambusinos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santos moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Gambusinos keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Freseros. Santos will meet at home higher ranked Lobos (#6) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gambusinos will play against Mineros in Zacatecas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
