Kenny Jones
Fuerza Guinda de Nogales (CIBACOPA) agreed terms with 31-year old American power forward Kenny Jones (198-93kg-84, college: Kentucky State, agency: DTMones). It is actually his comeback to Fuerza Guinda Nogales as he played here before. Jones moved there from Nogaleros in Mexican Regional where he started the season. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. Jones also played at Fuerza Guinda Nogales that season. In 23 Regional games he had very impressive stats: 18.6ppg, 6.9rpg and 2.1apg this season. This season he played at Saint John Mill Rats (NBL Canada) in Canadian NBL Canada. In 35 Regional games he was third best scorer with remarkable 20.2ppg and averaged 6.0rpg, 2.7apg and 1.3spg. Quite impressive season as he was named to USBasket.com All-NBL Canada 2nd Team. The last (13-14) season Jones played at Instituto (TNA) in Argentinian league. In 41 games he recorded high stats: 19.5ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1spg. He helped them to make it to the final. It was another spectacular season as he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian TNA Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian TNA Import player of the Year.
The previous (2013) summer Jones played at Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon. In 32 CIBACOPA games he was the best scorer with high stats: 25.5ppg and had 8.4rpg and 1.8apg in 2013 season. And one more great year too as he was named to Mexican CIBACOPA All-Star Game. The last (2013) season he played at CD Tinguiririca San Fernando (LIBCENTRO) in Chilean league. In only one game he had high stats: 20 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in 2012-13 season.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Jones won ABA championship title in 2009. He was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Regionalliga South-East Player of the Year back in 2012.
Jones has played also professionally in Germany (Dachau), Argentina (Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba) and PBL (Kentucky S.).
He attended Kentucky State until 2008 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player.
On Jones: An undersized forward with an aggressive and physical style of play. Puts up a lots of points near to the basket, can successfully bang larger opponents inside.
