Gutierrez
International Center Isaac Gutierrez (204-C-84) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Panteras, receiving a Latinbasket.com LNBP Player of the Week award for round 29.
The 32-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, nine rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Santos (#8, 11-19) 87-77. Panteras is placed at 2nd position in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Panteras will need more victories to improve their 17-12 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Gutierrez as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Isaac Gutierrez averages this season 7.4ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was 32-year old American Tony Bennett (185-G-84) of Indios. Bennett had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 12 assists. Of course Indios cruised to a 91-81 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Toros (#5, 16-13). This victory allowed Indios to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 12-16 record. Bennett is a newcomer at Indios, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Lorrenzo Wade (201-F-85, agency: DTMones) of Toros (#5). Wade got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for five rebounds . Despite Wade's great performance Toros lost 81-91 to slightly lower-ranked Indios (#6, 12-16). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Toros needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 16 victories and 13 lost games. Wade has a very solid season. In 4 games in Mexico he scored 17.8ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jeleel Akindele (216-C-83) of Fuerza Regia - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists
5. Fabian Jaimes (198-F-92) of Panteras - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
6. B.J. West (211-F-89) of Santos - 16 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Wayne Chism (206-PF-87) of Garzas - 17 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Grandy Glaze (204-F) of Correcaminos - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Alan Olivas (202-C-88) of Indios - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Tyrone White (201-F-90) of Garzas - 20 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
