Juan Toscano
24-year old forward Juan Toscano (198-F-93, agency: BeoBasket) had a great game in the last round for Fuerza Regia and receives a LNBP Player of the Week award for round 9.
He got a double-double of 25 points and 10 assists, while his team beat Mineros (#5, 5-4) 105-100. Thanks to this victory Fuerza Regia moved-up to the 3rd position in Mexican LNBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Fuerza Regia will need more victories to improve their 6-3 record. In the team's last game Toscano had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be Fuerza Regia's top player in his first season with the team. Marquette University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Toscano is in league's top in assists (4th best: 5.0apg) and averages solid 63.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Eric McClellan (193-G-93, agency: KMG Sports Management) of Mineros. He is American guard in his first season at Mineros. In the last game McClellan recorded impressive 41 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Mineros lost that game 100-105 to slightly higher-ranked Fuerza Regia (#3, 6-3). This loss caused Mineros to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 5-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. McClellan is a newcomer at Mineros and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.9ppg (#6). He also registered 4.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Michael Glover (203-F/C-87) of Panteras (#10). Glover scored 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Glover's great performance Panteras lost 89-98 to the higher-ranked Capitanes (#2, 6-3). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Panteras can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Glover he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Glover has individually a great season in Mexico. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.7ppg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Emmanuel Andujar (198-F-93) of Capitanes - 15 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Reginald Larry (198-F-86) of Abejas - 20 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Fernando Benitez (204-F/C-89) of Capitanes - 21 points and 4 rebounds
7. Steven Pledger (193-G-90) of Abejas - 28 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Tyrone White (201-F-90) of Aaguacateros - 30 points
9. Kleon Penn (213-C-86) of Correcaminos - 12 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Andy Panko (203-F-77) of Fuerza Regia - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
